Chicago Bulls center, Joakim Noah #13 has a goal and mission of his own. March 2014, Joakim’s, Noah’s Arc Foundation (NAF), hosted a Peace Tournament in Chicago. Joakim teamed up with family, fellow teammates, community leaders and religious counsel to help rebound Chicago streets of gang activity, violence, and poverty. Chicago city’s West and South sides united for a one day basketball tournament to promote peace. Joakim and friends came together to coach the successful event. Following the Peace Tournament, a discussion among the participants involved a lesson on the accomplishment of the event and revelation of each players concerns for their community. Noah’s Arc Foundation (NAF), works to develop a strong sense of self in all children via art and sports programs. Co-Founder of NAF and mother of Joakim, Cecilia Rodhe heads the art program, “Expressions From The Inside”. The children create artwork that help to express feelings and create original designs. Joakim heads the sports program portion of NAF, helping coach and mentor basketball games. Through these games children learn life lessons in discipline and teamwork. Click Here For Official Video
