On July 25, 2015, Hip Hop artist, Jeezy partnered up with Young Generation Movement and their #PantsUpGunsDown movement, by leading a neighborhood clean up in Atlanta’s District 4.
While celebrating the 10th anniversary of his debut album Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101, Jeezy chose to give back to the community by relaunching his Street Dreamz Foundation, with this neighborhood clean up in Rosa L. Burney Park. Residents were able to have their grass cut, weeds removed, and trash on their streets picked up. Many volunteers participated in this community service project, including music industry executive Shanti Das, and Councilmember Cleta Winslow.
Even with the relaunching of Street Dreamz Foundation, the idea of giving back is nothing new to Jeezy. The Atlanta rapper, has been giving back to Atlanta neighborhoods for several years. On, July 24, 2015 he received the Phoenix Award from Mayor Kasim Reed, which is the highest honor someone can receive from the mayor.
Major props to Jeezy for using his celebrity for over 10 years to touch lives and give back to his community!
