San E and KRS-One Show Us That Hip Hop Is For The World

On March 3, 2015, Korean hip hop artist, San E released a music video for “#HIPHOPISHIPHOP.” The song and music video features an international rap collective called Hip Hop For The World. San E told Billboard“‘#HIPHOPISHIPHOP’ is my high school dream…'” His goal was to let everyone know that Hip Hop is worldwide, and with this collaboration he has done just that.

For the second year, Hip Hop Gives Back and I Am Classic Hip Hop is back with “Feed-A-Family for Thanksgiving 2014.  Feed-A-Family is a give back initiative that aims to provide Thanksgiving dinner for a family in need this November.  #HHGB and IAmClassicHipHop.com partners with the Atlanta Boys & Girls Club to identify the family in need and work together to deliver a memorable meal and holiday!  The fundraiser begins today, Thursday Nov 13th thru Saturday November 22nd, we will launch an online campaign to collect as many donations as possible and also collect donations in person at Savage Fam’s Freestyle Experiment taking place November 18th at Apache Cafe.  The goal is to raise funds to provide Thanksgiving dinner for at least three area Atlanta families!  With the combined efforts of the Hip Hop community, businesses, organizations and sponsors we will collaborate with to make this a successful mission and holiday season!

50 Cent Feeding America

Rapper, 50 Cent has supported domestic hunger-relief organization Feeding America since 2012. He is joined by other celebrities like that have joined the cause include Ben Affleck, Matt Damon and Jennifer Aniston. 50 Cent does his part by participating on the entertainment council that raises awareness about the serious issue of hunger in America through public support via media relations, cause-marketing programs, and public policy initiatives.

Tyga Joins Movement to Have Empire State Building #GoGold

Rapper Tyga has joined up the movement and organizations to have the Empire State Building in New York to #GoGold in support of children who are battling cancer. The display of having the building “lit up” is being met with push back from the building controllers at Empire State Building Experience, stating that all requests made via petition or social media would not be considered. Instead they advise request be made through their website http://www.esbnyc.com/. Here’s Tyga speaking on his involvement in the push and his personal involvement with the cause.

Tyga has a history of being giving of his time to children battling various forms of cancer. He speaks on visiting a children’s hospital this past holiday season to lift the spirits of the young kids and ends up getting inspired himself.

In a show of good will there have been several other public locations who have agreed to light up for the worthy cause, including Times Square in NYC, The Prudential building in Boston, Niagara Falls Peace Bridge, Ireland’s Trim Castle, and Australia’s Bell Tower.

Joakim Noah & Chicago Center Focus On #PEACE

Chicago Bulls center, Joakim Noah #13 has a goal and mission of his own. March 2014, Joakim’s, Noah’s Arc Foundation (NAF), hosted a Peace Tournament in Chicago. Joakim teamed up with family, fellow teammates, community leaders and religious counsel to help rebound Chicago streets of gang activity, violence, and poverty. Chicago city’s West and South sides united for a one day basketball tournament to promote peace. Joakim and friends came together to coach the successful event. Following the Peace Tournament, a discussion among the participants involved a lesson on the accomplishment of the event and revelation of each players concerns for their community. Noah’s Arc Foundation (NAF), works to develop a strong sense of self in all children via art and sports programs. Co-Founder of NAF and mother of Joakim, Cecilia Rodhe heads the art program, “Expressions From The Inside”. The children create artwork that help to express feelings and create original designs. Joakim heads the sports program portion of NAF, helping coach and mentor basketball games. Through these games children learn life lessons in discipline and teamwork. Click Here For Official Video

A Day at The Races Charity Event

Green Bay Packer’s linebacker Desmond Bishop is hosting A Day At The Races on Saturday March 9th, 2013 at Golden Gate Fields in Berkley, California! Attendees of the fun-filled event will have the opportunity to mingle with Desmond and other NFL athletes (Charlie Peprah of the Dallas Cowboys, Marshawn Lynch of the Seattle Seahawks, Lavelle Hawkins of the Tennessee Titans, Chris Culliver of the San Francisco 49ers, NaVorro Bowman of the San Francisco 49ers, and Jeremy Ross of the Green Bay Packers) while enjoying nine exciting races at northern California’s premier horse racing destination, feasting on an all you can eat lunch and dessert buffet, and participating in a raffle to win autographed authentic NFL memorabilia.

Additionally, Desmond’s DBFY foundation will be presenting two deserving bay-area youth with their hard-earned DBFY college scholarships. Proceeds from the event will help fund Bishop’s 6th annual free-of-charge Youth Football Camp which is held every year in the first week of July at Desmond’s Fairfield High School.
