This past week activist, rapper, entrepreneur, Killer Mike appeared on HBO’s Bill Maher talk show and proceeded to provide truth to power of the origins of the Hip Hop culture as well as the truth behind violence in America.. All in less than 5 minutes.  This is why the people say #KillerMikeForPresident!

 

 

San E and KRS-One Show Us That Hip Hop Is For The World

On March 3, 2015, Korean hip hop artist, San E released a music video for “#HIPHOPISHIPHOP.” The song and music video features an international rap collective called Hip Hop For The World. San E told Billboard“‘#HIPHOPISHIPHOP’ is my high school dream…'” His goal was to let everyone know that Hip Hop is worldwide, and with this collaboration he has done just that. 

Trae Da Truth Presents 6th Annual “Trae Day” in Houston

On July 22nd, 2014, Grand Hustle recording artist and Houston’s own Trae Da Truth presented “Trae Day”.  Now in its 6th year, the annual free family block party, back to school preparation event and concert took place at NRG Park, in Houston, TX.  Jam packed from the start with young people, kids and parents alike, the event drew record numbers as Trae Day grows in popularity every year.  This year Trae brought along many of his label mates and Hip Hop counterparts including T.I., B.o.B., T-Pain and artists from Trae’s ABN imprint.  Trae also received a proclamation from the city of Houston for his give back efforts and dedication to the community.  Check out some of the pictures from the event below.  Hip Hop Gives Back salutes Trae Da Truth and all those who participated in making 2014’s Trae Day a memorable and rewarding one.

Ludacris Gives Back $20K to Alma Mater during LudaDay Weekend 2013

LudaDay Weekend returns to the A for the eighth year with a weekend full of parties, promos and thankfully philanthropy!  Luda donated $20,000 to his alma mater during a pep rally at Banneker High School and specifically the ‘Live Real Change’ (www.liverealchange.com) initiative and their non-for-profit partner, Adopt-A-Classroom.  This donation will help provide the necessary resources for the classrooms, contributing to the education of the students.  Ludacris will also continue to his work with Live Real Change as he has signed on to be apart of The Real Change Project Season 2.   Through this philanthropic venture Luda aims to emphasize the importance of education to achieve your dreams.
